The Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia and the Yukon is pleased to partner with the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster in bringing you GreeningSpirit.ca

As a body of the Anglican Church, the ecclesiastical province of BC and the Yukon is committed to faithfully practicing stewardship of creation.  Parishes throughout BC and the Yukon are set in an incredible diversity of environments - from coastal rainforest to inland desert; from rocky mountain to rolling prairie; from permafrost to rich, fertile soil.

Each setting is unique, and each context calls for a unique response to environmental stewardship.  GreeningSpirit.ca is a place for individual Anglicans, Anglican parishes and dioceses to record their response to the challenge of reducing green-house gas emissions. 

The Ecclesiastical Province of BC and the Yukon, for our part is also committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.  We have demonstrated our commitment by:

• establishing an Environmental Task Force with a mandate of raising environmental issues in Anglican Dioceses across BC and the Yukon; and
• partnering with Anglican Dioceses in promoting and facilitating energy audits of church buildings.

It is the work of individual parishes, and particularly individual Anglicans in parishes, that has the greatest impact for reducing overall green-house gas emissions...
